Our Founder’s Story: Fernando R.’s Rock Bottom Moment
Our founder, Fernando R.’s journey is a testament to the transformative power of recovery. Seven years ago, he faced his darkest hour, battling addiction. Paralyzed by fear and despair, he found himself at rock bottom—in a porta potty.
In this moment of utter desperation, Fernando R. found the courage to pick up the phone and call for help. With unwavering support from friends and family, he entered rehab and rebuilt his life. Today, he celebrates seven years of sobriety, a testament to his resilience and the unwavering support he received. The AA medallions he collected along the way served as powerful reminders of his strength and the distance he’d traveled from that dark place, motivating him to never return.
Inspired by his journey, Fernando R. and his co-founder, DeRoin M., created Medallions & More. The two met through the alumni network of their shared rehab, and later worked together at another AA gift store. They were unsatisfied with the level of customer service they witnessed and knew they could do better. That’s why they founded Medallions & More with a commitment to providing VIP customer service, lightning-fast shipping, and upfront communication every step of the way.
